Maria + Peter’s gorgeous vineyard wedding
Was the perfect blend of two of our favorite wedding styles: fairytale romantic + rustic. Filled with a gorgeous, soft color palette of dusty blue, white, and Gold and the prettiest floral design by red box days, The beautiful details of this wedding couldn’t have been a better match for the idyllic vineyard of ktima kokotou. Firstly their ceremony was held at saint George’s small chapel. Dinner took place under bistro lights. And while the beauty of Marias + Peters’ day is obvious, it was also an amazing party, too!
How we met
The bride shared with us: “We met in October 2014 when I started working voluntarily in the same elderly community where he worked. “We started dating in December and he proposed to me in August 2017 on the beach of Kiawah Island, South Carolina during a solar eclipse.”
Why we choose a Greek Wedding
“After a few months of engagement, we decided that we would like to get married in Greece. “My family lives there and it would be an opportunity to bring Peter closer to my roots but also to have a wedding beyond the usual banquet venues we find here in Washington.”
Our favorite wedding moment
“Our favorite wedding moment was when Peter and I entered the reception area. We had not seen the decoration at the reception area before our wedding. “When we entered the venue, in Greece, at our wedding, holding my husband’s hand. We looked at the perfect scene with all our loved ones around; and this is a memory I will never forget.”
Style of our Greek Wedding
“We had asked our planner Maria from Mk events by Santo Weddings for a romantic atmospheric wedding and so we chose blue and gold details combined with rich greenery. “Lanterns hung all over the reception area, adding an even more romantic character to the decoration, making it look like a dream.”
Brides Advice
The bride’s advice to a bride-to-be is: “Everything that stresses you out and seems very important at the moment. Seems very small after the wedding. Just take deep breaths! ask yourself how important this detail will be in a few months or a year after your wedding. If you can, choose a wedding planner. “Ours was our angel.”
