But what is an elopement you might ask. The official definition? ‘Run away secretly in order to get married.’ Romantic right? Sure it is but it doesn’t have to be a secret and it doesn’t have to just be the two of you. You can always choose your witnesses, your photographer and makeup artist.

Elopements in Greece are becoming more and more popular due to the countless possibilities and the variety of venues and landscapes. There are so many beautiful, adventurous, tranquil and peaceful spots to elope to.

Why choose to elope in the first place?

If you want to experience a totally intimate wedding celebration – a day focused on just the two of you, an elopement is the answer. A beautiful option for people who don’t feel like the traditional wedding route is the right fit for them. An elopement grants the freedom to decide how to commit your lives to each other. It creates a magical, intimate way for couples to make their wildest, most romantic dreams about their wedding day come true without having to sacrifice a single, intimate moment between the two of them.

Naturally, with much fewer guests you can save money on your wedding. Fewer mouths to feed, smaller more intimate venues may come at less of a cost than a venue for 100 people. Having fewer guests might allow you to spend more budget on those things that really mean a lot to you. By deciding to elope together, you also have fewer limitations on where you can celebrate your marriage together. We would label an adventurous elopement as anything that takes you outside of the traditional wedding setting, as well as literally outside! In terms of outdoor activities, think about what gets you excited. Hiking, horseback riding, fishing, tasting local fare, etc. Where you go is also going to inform what you do so make it fun! Part of the adventure is the journey to whichever beautiful destination you choose. And there you’ll say your vows, surrounded by nature.

Your wedding is your day and it should be a fun and stress free experience. When you decide to plan a wedding, there is a lot of planning that is usually involved. You have to consider way more things when planning a traditional wedding compared to an elopement. Regardless of how well organized your planner might be, you will still have some homework to do. Planning an elopement allows you and your planner to still put your beautiful wedding inspiration to use, and also saves you from becoming a bridezilla or fighting with your partner and family from all the stress of the long list of things that still need to get done.

Compared to wedding planning, elopements can take as much as 3 months to plan sometimes! While there is some planning involved during elopements, it’s not even a quarter of what’s required for bigger weddings. We will have everything prepared for you in no time.
